[...] There are still some obvious holdouts. The most glaring is Publix Supermarkets, Inc., which operates 1,000 stores across the Southeast and whose Lakeland, Fla. head office is barely 100 miles from the fields of Immokalee. For five years the CIW has been trying to get Publix to do what ARAMARK and the other corporations have done, to no avail. [...]

So they hired someone to video the protesters. O.K.

But "focusing on the baby"? Give me a break. Consumer cameras are autofocus by default, so I don't he was doing anything specific to focus on the baby. But I assume you mean the less technical sense of focus, zoom in on? In all likelihood, with the standard focal length of a video camera, the frame included the baby and everything around the baby. The baby maybe took up 2 or 3 percent of the image area. So the guy was "focusing" on a protesters. One of whom brought his baby along. I suspose he might have zoomed in on the baby, but really, how would the protester have known what focal length was being used?

It was in the interest of the protester to make it seem as creepy as possible, and you the journalist didn't even turn on your brain and think about whether he might not have been exagerating or lying.

Hi! Fantastic site, I really like your writing style. Very distinctive and concise. On a lot of blogs people just drone on and on, but not you - very nice. I found your site while looking for another one on Google. I don't have time to read all the recipes right now, but I have bookmarked your site and will visit again very soon to see the latest. I love reading about cooking, it is my favorite hobby. The recipes on your site are incredible. I can't wait to try them out on my family. They think I'm nuts (and maybe they are right lol) when they see me at work in the kitchen. Visit my site if you'd like to read more. Thank you again for a very educational web site. Keep up the great work!

Barry, I'm so glad you are now writing a blog about the difficult issues surrounding our country's food production. Bravo for continuing to report on the tomato pickers and their worthy fight. I will spread the word!
