Give Estabrook a hug! “Politics of the Plate” Nominated for Treehugger.com’s Best of Green Award in the Food Website Category

best_of_green_badge2010_02I am flattered to announce that Treehugger.com, the font of cutting-edge reporting about all things sustainable, announced earlier this week that Politics of the Plate.com has been nominated for the 2010 Best of Green Award in the Best Food Website category. I’m left speechless.

Okay, not quite. Treehugger says that the awards, “are our annual awards given to people, companies and ideas doing the best in walking the sustainability walk within their respective fields.” The winning entry will be chosen by a vote of Treehugger’s readers and you.

My biggest thrill is the company that Politics of the Plate is keeping. Fellow nominees are Post Punk Kitchen, The Ethical Butcher, Veg Daily, and (not to tip my hand) Bonnie Azab Powell’s absolutely terrific The Ethicurian.

The best part is that you you really do get to vote early and often (sounds a lot like living in Florida). Everyone can cast a ballot once a day from now until April 2. Winners will be announced April 12.

  1. Congratulations! Good job we can vote often. I’d have a hard time choosing between you, the Ethical Butcher and the Ethicurian. Great company indeed.

  2. Barry says:

Amanda, I feel exactly the same way about my fellow nominees–still pinching myself to find Politics of the Plate on the same list as such a great crew.

  3. I see we can vote more than once, just not same day. But of course, I voted for you first!

  4. Barry says:

Jacqueline, I bet you say that to all the boy bloggers. But it’s OK. Thanks so much.

  5. Hey… I live in Florida so I resemble that remark. Of course, at least I’m practiced at voting…. where is the hanging chad?

Congratulations on all of your deserved kudos.
